New LEGO Sets for June 2023: Pac

Jul 14, 2023

It's now June, which means a new batch of LEGO sets is either now available or coming soon. This month has some pretty great new releases, including a LEGO Pac-Man set and a Batcave shadow box based on the movie Batman Returns. Also, the massive LEGO Rivendell set is no longer a LEGO Store exclusive (see it at Amazon), and a seriously cool Captain America shield is now available for preorder. Below, we have details on all that and more.

Previously a LEGO Store exclusive, the LEGO Rivendell set is now available elsewhere. Frankly, this set from The Lord of the Rings is one of the most impressive LEGO releases I’ve ever seen. It's a massive build that includes jaw-dropping amounts of detail. It's definitely not cheap, but you can see where the money goes in this set, which includes minifigures of Frodo, Gandalf, and the rest of the fellowship. Check out our We Build LEGO Rivendell feature to see just what goes into this astonishing set.

Joining the LEGO NES and Atari 2600 is this retro video game set based on the classic Pac-Man arcade machine. It has a crank on the side that makes Pac-Man and the ghosts move through the level, just like in the original game. It also has a light-up brick to illuminate the 25¢ insert coin button. And on top of the machine is a removable block featuring Pac-Man and two ghosts. It even has a button that reverses the figures so the ghosts turn blue and Pac-Man turns as if chasing them after gobbling a power pellet. This set is available now with LEGO VIP (sign up here for free), or June 4 without.

A new batch of sets based on the original Jurassic Park movie are now available. Probably the coolest one depicts the visitor center during the exciting events at the climax of the film, when Dr. Grant, Dr. Saddler, and the kids are trying to make their escape. Other moments from the movie are captured in more new sets, listed above.

Available now is this great 1,074 piece set of the Hogwarts Express and Hogsmeade Station. While a much bigger (and way more expensive) version of this train was released a while back, this one just feels more attainable. Other new sets include the ones listed above. You can't purchase this one until June 8, but on that date it will come available on the LEGO Store. It's a very cool display piece based on the Batcave as seen in the 1992 Tim Burton classic Batman Returns. This is LEGO's first shadow box-style set, so it’ll be interesting to see if they make more of them. Basically, it's a stylish black box with a big bat symbol-shaped hole that lets you see inside. You can also open it up like a book to reveal all the details, including seven awesome minifigures, a surprisingly detailed Batmobile, and basically a play set of the Batcave.

Revealed today and up for preorder is a 3,128-piece re-creation of Captain America's iconic shield. This set, designed for the 18-and-up crowd, is a display piece meant to be shown off rather than played with. It's bigger than it might look in pictures, and it comes with a stand and placard, plus a Captain America minifigure. Nice.

The biggest pop act in the world got its own LEGO set a couple months ago as a LEGO Store exclusive. That set is now available more widely, including at Amazon and Walmart. Walmart also has it for a deep discount at the moment, possibly as a pricing mistake.

While these are the highlights of the June 2023 releases, several sets with August 1 release dates are currently available to preorder. Those include some great LEGO Star Wars sets, as well as the upcoming Donkey Kong addition to the LEGO Super Mario Bros. series.
