Tin City Reopens in Naples with 100th Anniversary Party. The iconic waterfront shopping and dining destination suffered serve damage from Hurricane Ian. Then, when recovery was picking up speed, a speeding car crashed into the building wrecking many of the shops and stores all over again. While many business have been back for a couple of months, the official reopening was celebrated over the weekend, coupled with a huge anniversary party.

Tin City is downtown Naples on the Gordon River. It could be described as Naples’ boardwalk. You can see the colorful shops and restaurants as you cross the river while traveling on Tamiami Trail. Tin City is named for it's rustic tin buildings that were home to oyster processing businesses decades ago. It has that "old Florida" vibe. A rustic contrast to some of the posh neighborhoods not far away.

Most of the dining is casual, featuring Florida fare. In addition, much of the shopping is geared to the Florida lifestyle, such as the tropical Christmas ornaments pictured above. You can also catch ferry rides along the river as well as fishing charters into the gulf and bay, from boats that are docked at Tin City's marina.

While most of Tin City is open for business again, four shops in building #1 are still under repair. However, the damage is not from Hurricane Ian. The destruction was caused November 25th an out of control car crashed through the building and burst into flames.

In their report, they revealed that Naples is the best city to live in the US. While Naples ranked dead last for affordability, it ranked #1 in both Leisure & Entertainment and Healthcare.

If you’re a retiree seeking a peaceful place to settle down or a young professional in search of a thriving city, Naples undoubtedly has something to offer both.

I’m not sure I’d get too excited about living in some of these cities or states (Nebraska?!), but maybe there's something there! What do you think?

None of their numbers were particularly impressive, but Lincoln ranks in the top 50 in crime/safety, affordability and education.

Cambridge is ranked #1 in both education and employment.

Quality is life is pretty low in Papillion, but they ranked #8 in healthcare.

Madison came in last for leisure & entertainment, but if you’re looking for a safe place with low crime and a good economy, you’ll find it there.

Alpharetta didn't rank too high in affordability, but was ranked #3 in employment.

While Naperville ranked pretty low in affordability and quality of life, in the categories of economy and leisure & entertainment, it ranked in the top 10.

Sounds like you won't have to worry much in Amherst, as it was ranked #1 in crime/safety.

Portland came in at #4 in leisure & entertainment.

Carmel ranked #2 in employment.

Naples came in dead last for affordability, but ranked #1 in both leisure & entertainment and healthcare.
